The story of Wellness Green

Wellness Green is the vision of the late Paul Green. A man best known for his successes on the sporting field.
As a coach, Paul was a master of getting teams to perform. But it wasn’t just on the ground where Paul believed these skills could be of value. He recongised that the physical and mental demands of Rugby League have many parallels with Construction work.
To achieve great results, both require teamwork, focus, motivation and a commitment to the process.

Paul noticed that infrastructure projects are a bit like a long football session. Some weeks are better than others, but consistency ultimately drives the end result. Maintaining energy and motivation over the long haul. Staying fit and prepared. Continuously supporting each other to perform. These habits and behaviours found in professional team sport, transfer directly to the construction site.

Performing better by collecting daily data

Over his 30 year coaching journey, Paul saw many changes in how elite teams prepared for training and competition. One of the biggest changes he witnessed was in relation to data science and how coaching staff could use daily and weekly data to measure team motivation and shape training schedules, prevent burnout and optimise performance.
Paul envisaged that these techniques could have direct application on the construction site, so he set out to validate his idea, teaming up with the University of QLD Business School to begin a major research project. After several years of research and commitment, Wellness Green was born.
Today, Wellness Green works with many leading government bodies and project owners to deliver a new standard of workplace wellness across major construction, infrastructure and mining sites.
